               By Peter Young

This is another one discovered in University sessions. This one was given to a group of us with 15mins of time to prepare a 'performance'. We also had to focus on using movement in our performance. With 6 in the group we came up with actions and broke the poem down.

Our Performance - actions and sharing of lines:  Line 1- Show both hands to audience, (spoken by all) Line 2 - Pat palms, Line 3 - fingers tips pointing to the ground and wiggling fingers as if in water (lines 2 and 3 spoken by person A and person B) Line 4 - Fists building on top of each other followed by shaking hands with partner (spoken by person B and C), Line 5 - double hi 5 with partner followed by a clap (spoken by person C and D), Line 6 -  rubbing hands together followed by hand outstretched palm out in a stop motion (spoken by person D and E), Line 7 -'punching' motion out front followed by fitting hands together so fingers inter-link (spoken by person E and F), Line 8 - grab at air and pull toward body followed by rubbing hands together (spoken by person F and A), Line 9 - mime potato peeling followed by hand to cheek (spoken by A and B), Line 10 - palms up, arms outstretched brought toward body followed by miming of breaking bread stick (spoken by B and C), Line 11 - partners link arms followed by palms out starting close to body and offering to audience (spoken by C and D), Line 12 - palms out arms motioning upwards (spoken by D and E), Line 13 - Miming using a sieve (spoken by E and F), Line 14- all hold hands (spoken by all) and finally Line 15 - each individual holds out one hand, palm facing audience (spoken by all).
Unless otherwise stated the actions in our performance were only performed by the people speaking the lines.
By over lapping the lines spoken by each individual we felt the poem flowed well.
